Bout Time beat the Old Dawgs 5-3 on Monday to take the league’s 2023 summer title. It took two games to decide the championship with the Dawgs handing Bout Time their first playoff loss last Thursday. The two teams, seeded #1 and #2, played three times in playoffs with Bout Time winning the first game and sending the Dawgs to the Consolation bracket where they emerged for the championship game.
Bout Time’s Rich Sturtevant scored twice, including the game-winning goal in the third period. Old Dawg’s John Forney had two of the Dawgs scores. Matt Cannon, of Bout Time, scored on an empty net in the third to seal the game.
